Directions
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Mix in vegetable shortening with a pastry blender
Mix in cubed butter with pastry blender
Slightly mix in buttermilk
Turn out Doug onto a lightly floured surface. Build the dough into a rectangle. Cut the dough into four even pieces and stack on top creating layers. Repeat this step at least 3 more times.
Roll the dough out with a floured rolling pin. Flour the jar before cutting the biscuits to eliminate sticking.
Place the biscuits in the freezer for at least 15 mins
Preheat the oven to 425 with the dish you are baking on inside of the oven
Bake for 12-15 minutes
